The Jambos, who have frozen prices for next season, are also asking supporters to pay for the briefs by cash or cheque so that the money is available to the club immediately.

In a statement on the Hearts website, chairwoman Ann Budge said: “The club has received many messages of support for our decision to freeze season ticket prices for the forthcoming campaign.

“You have shown tremendous loyalty and packed the stadium at many matches this year with record numbers of season tickets being sold. I trust that you will back our decision to reward your loyalty by supporting the club once more by renewing for Season 2016-17.

“Once again, I would urge fans to consider paying by cash or cheque. Last season, over half of you responded to this request which was fantastic. This meant we had immediate access to this money to progress various initiatives within the business. When card payments are made, we receive the monies from the credit card companies on a drip-feed basis over the season. Obviously with our proposed stadium plans it is extremely beneficial for the company to receive as much cash up front as possible – so, if you are at all able to help, a cash or cheque payment we would be extremely grateful.”

Existing season ticket holders will be able to renew from 9am on Thursday, May 12, with new season ticket holders able to buy them from Tuesday, June 7.

Budge added: “I have one final request for you. We are anticipating that demand for new season tickets will outstrip supply very quickly and would therefore ask that if you are planning not to renew, you let us know at your earliest convenience by emailing [email protected].”
