Hearts will take no risks with the injury and have decided to make sure he is fit for their European campaign.
Fellow centre back Blazej Augustyn has been struggling with a back problem but could still make Saturday’s Ladbrokes Premiership encounter with Ross County. Otherwise it’s likely that John Souttar will retain his place alongside captain Alim Ozturk at the centre of the Hearts defence.
