Sitting top of the Ladbrokes Premiership, Hearts travel to East End Park in the Betfred Cup last 16 and thousands will follow them across the River Forth. The Edinburgh club’s initial allocation sold out yesterday as lengthy queues formed outside Tynecastle Park. An extra 700 away tickets have been issued by Dunfermline and they will go on sale from Tynecastle tomorrow morning at 9am.

Hearts topped Group C to reach the Betfred Cup knockout phase and have since won both their opening league games, the latest being Saturday’s 1-0 home triumph against Celtic.

“It comes as no surprise that the Hearts support continues to back the club in brilliant fashion,” a club spokesperson told the Evening News. “To sell 4,000 tickets for an away match in such a short period of time is remarkable, especially off the back of a packed out Tynecastle in Saturday’s thoroughly deserved win over Celtic. Craig Levein and the first-team are thankful for such a great level of support and everyone is looking forward to Saturday’s match against Dunfermline Athletic and trying to make the next round of the Betfred Cup.”
