Morgaro Gomis has completed a six-month loan move from Hearts to Motherwell. The Senegalese midfielder's exit follows Don Cowie's arrival at Riccarton to compete for a midfield place.

Gomis has been eager to play more regularly for Hearts and felt a loan move was his best option. He signed the paperwork at Fir Park and will go straight into Mark McGhee’s squad for Tuesday night’s game against Partick Thistle.

“Morgaro is at the stage where he wants to play regular first-team football every Saturday and, with the depth of our squad, it was something I couldn’t guarantee,” explained Robbie Neilson, the Hearts head coach, on the club website.

“Therefore, we’ve agreed to let him go to Motherwell on loan with our best wishes. It’s a move that will work out well for all parties.”
