Hearts raise more than £60,000 from Main Stand auction

Hearts raised more than £60,000 from the Main Stand auction held at Tynecastle, with an owl raising over £4,000 alone.

The club were auctioning off items salvaged and saved before the demolition of the old stand with all proceeds going toward the Tynecastle Redevelopment Fund.

Fans packed out the Gorgie Suite bidding on everything from toilet signage to boots to pictures of Hearts heroes. Actor Ken Stott was one fan in attendnace, purchasing a picture of Gary Mackay.

However, the famous Main Stand owl stole the show by raising a whopping £4,100, the most expensive item from the day.

The club are expected to open the new stand with a home game against Aberdeen on 9 September.
