The Tynecastle side have a pre-contract deal in place with the Czech hitman to join in January but are keen to get him over to Edinburgh sooner.

Teplice have insisted that they won’t allow the 27-year-old to leave without finding a replacement first.

Hearts already have a pre-contract deal in place with Czech striker David Vanecek.

That man could be Martin Jindracek. The 28-year-old has spent most of his career on the books at Teplice and arrives back at the club after a fruitful spell with Ustí nad Labem.

It remains to be seen whether Hearts can negotiate an early release for Vanecek before the deadline passes at midnight.

Meanwhile, Hearts have agreed a deal with St Mirren to send Ryan Edwards out on loan for the duration of the 2018/19 season.
