Alan Pattullo: Great Highlands ticket rush showing no signs of abating as “Rudolf Skacel” gets involved

The great ticket rush in the Highlands is showing no sign of abating. Inverness Caledonian Thistle have confirmed sales of over 9000 tickets for a game against Hearts that no-one is able to attend and which is still just under a fortnight away.

Inverness manager John Robertson has signed souvenir tickets for a “Rudolf Skacel” from Loanhead and a “Jesus Christ” of HMP Edinburgh – otherwise known as Saughton Prison. Around £85,000 has been raised to date – the vast majority by Hearts fans - to help the current plight of Inverness, who haven’t played at home since December.

Discussions are now underway between the clubs regarding whether the large Hearts “Blood doesn’t show on a maroon jersey” banner can be couriered to the Caledonian stadium for the occasion.

Another idea that has been mooted is both sets of players taking part in a minute’s applause towards the empty away end before kick-off. Scottish football, eh?
