Alloa Athletic 1 - 0 Hearts RECAP: Wasps cause Betfred Cup shock against disappointing visitors
Hearts make the 35-mile trip to Clackmannanshire this afternoon for the Betfred Cup last-16 clash with Alloa Athletic.
It is 14 years since Hearts last played at the Indodrill Stadium – then Recreation Park – in a League Cup tie when Robbie Neilson was on the pitch rather than in the dugout. Christophe Berra will, however, likely start the match as he did back then.
That day Hearts ran out 4-0 winners and were 3-0 winners when the sides last met in the league, five days ago at Tynecastle Park. Progress in the Betfred Cup would see the Tynecastle side in the draw for the quarter finals which are played next month and mean it is just one match before a return to hampden Park.
