Big Hearts Community Trust today appointed a new chairman in place of the departing David Southern.
Jim Panton, former chief executive of Erskine and Poppyscotland, has assumed the role following Southern’s departure from Hearts to Dundee United.
Panton is currently executive chairman on Panton McLeod, a technology form working for the water industry in the UK and in America. His appointment was universally approved by the Big Hearts charity’s board of trustees.
Following his move to Tannadice as general manager, Southern said Hearts’ community and education programme would continue to be hugely successful: “I am delighted that Jim has agreed to accept the offer of becoming chairman and his experience and knowledge will be very valuable as the charity continues to develop in the years ahead.”
