BLAZEJ AUGUSTYN is open to discussing a new contract with Hearts if the club want him to stay.
His exisiting deal expires at the end of the season but the Pole admitted today that he is willing to talk about a longer stay in Edinburgh.
Tynecastle officials are eager to tie up several players whose contracts are entering their final few months. Goalkeepers Neil Alexander and Scott Gallacher, Brazilian Igor Rossi, plus midfielders Miguel Pallardo, Danny Swanson and Kenny Anderson are also free agents next summer, although Anderson and Gallacher are surplus to requirements.
Belgian midfielder Arnaud Djoum is on a short-term deal which expires in January and has been offered the chance to sign an extension.
Talks have yet to take place with Augustyn but the 27-year-old said he would be happy to discuss the matter if Hearts ask him to commit his long-term future.
“I’m just trying to concentrate on my games. If they decide to sign me again, we will talk about it with my agent and with the club,” he told the Evening News.
“We will see. First we have to talk to see if everybody is happy. There haven’t been any talks yet.”
n Hearts’ away match at Inverness, scheduled for Wednesday, March 2, 2016, will now take place on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at 3pm.
The switch comes because both clubs have a free weekend on January 30 as their opponents – St Johnstone and Ross County – play in the League Cup semi-finals.
