Wallace played with distinction across a seven-year career in Gorgie, including winning the club’s young player of the year award in consecutive seasons.
And supporters were quick to voice their opinion that Hearts should make a move to bring the player back to Gorgie.
@bigfelly said: “Please let it be so. A proper left back available? Go get him, Craig.”

@GraemeMcV tweeted: “Would take Wallace back at Hearts in a heartbeat. Cambridge striker a better sort of signing in terms of age and potential as well.”
@RJBorthwick added: “Hearts, Rangers, Hearts seems like pretty natural character progression for Lee Wallace.”
And @stirling1296 stated: “Hearts should fire a cheeky bid in for Wallace. Bring him home.”
