Christophe Berra reportedly turns down approach from Salford City
Championship clubs retain interest two days before end of transfer window
Christophe Berra has rejected an approach from Salford City, according to reports.
The English League Two side were said to have opened talks with the Hearts defender with a view to completing a move before the end of the transfer window.
However, the 34-year-old has made it clear he would not be interested in moving down to Manchester at this stage of his career.
Berra originally returned to Scotland to sign for his first club in 2017 because he wanted to be closer to his family.
Scottish Championship sides Dundee and Queen of the South retain an interest in the 41-cap Scotland defender.
The ex-Hearts captain has been training with the reserves voluntarily after being told by manager Daniel Stendel that he is no longer part of the first-team plans at Tynecastle.
Berra's contract runs for another 18 months.
