Former English Premier League winger Jerome Thomas is training with Hearts as he looks to find himself a new club, the Evening News has learned.
The 32-year-old Londoner is a free agent after leaving Crystal Palace in the summer. Thomas, a former Arsenal trainee, has several years experience of playing in the top flight down south with Portsmouth, West Brom and Palace but hasn’t played at all since featuring for the Eagles in an FA Cup game against Dover more than nine months ago.
The Englishman is a friend of current Hearts player Osman Sow, whom he shared a dressing-room with at Palace, and has been invited to train at Riccarton as he bids to fix himself up with a new club.
Thomas is right-footed but is comfortable on either flank. He has scored 24 goals in a career that has brought him more than 200 appearances in the top two leagues in England.
