FOUNDATION of Hearts today launched a “top-up payment” scheme to allow Hearts fans to make single contributions to their cause.
More than 7500 supporters have pledged money through direct debits but the Foundation will now welcome irregular input from those who cannot commit to monthly amounts.
The fans’ umbrella group are preferred bidders for Hearts and are attempting to negotiate an agreement to take the club out of administration with their BIDCO/FANCO plan.
Foundation of Hearts chairman Ian Murray MP said: “We’ve responded to the wishes of supporters by introducing a “top up” contribution option for one-off donations, and we’re delighted to do so.
“It is very important for us to stress that those supporters who can participate in monthly direct debits should continue to do so. This regular income is critically important for the BIDCO/FANCO agreement.
“We do, however, understand that some supporters are not able to commit to a monthly contribution and so, in recognising that we wanted to make the ability to support the Foundation of Hearts as accessible as possible.”
