Five Hearts players have been named in the Scotland Under-21 squad for next month’s European Championship qualifier against Northern Ireland.
Two Hibs youngsters were also called up by Ricky Sbragia, who named his first squad since being appointed Under-21 coach permanently.
Goalkeeper Jack Hamilton, defenders Callum Paterson and Jordan McGhee, plus wingers Billy King and Sam Nicholson were named in the squad this morning. Hibs striker Jason Cummings and midfielder John McGinn are also included.
The call-ups are recognition of the players’ part in Hearts’ start to the new campaign. The Tynecastle club sit top of the Premiership with four wins from four games despite being a newly-promoted team.
Scotland Under-21s face Northern Ireland at Mourneview Park, Lurgan, on Saturday September 5 at 2pm.
