HEARTS defender Igor Rossi has received a two-game ban and will miss Saturday’s league trip to Inverness and the Scottish Cup Edinburgh derby with Hibs.
The Scottish Football Association confirmed today that Rossi was dismissed for serious foul play at Hamilton on Sunday, an offence which carries an automatic two-match suspension regardless of competition.
Hearts are also missing centre-back Blazej Augustyn against Inverness as he serves a one-game ban for six league bookings. The Pole will be back to face Hibs on Sunday, February 7, but Rossi must sit out the cup tie as well.
The Brazilian was issued a straight red card by referee Bobby Madden after a two-footed tackle on Hamilton’s Darren Lyon seven minutes before half-time in the 0-0 draw. Madden’s report stated the offence was serious foul play, thus ruling Rossi out of Hearts’ next two matches.
