Hearts duo go so close to shock win for their country

Hearts duo Michael Smith and Liam Boyce came so close to recording a shock win for Northern Ireland away at Austria.

Both players started the Nations League encounter in Vienna, which the hosts won 2-1 despite Ian Baraclough’s men opening the scoring through Josh Magennis on 75 minutes.

Smith played the full match, while Boyce was replaced just after the hour mark.

The pair will hope to be involved in Northern Ireland’s final Nations League match at home to Romania on Wednesday before returning to Tynecastle.
