Hearts have been credited with an interest in Genoa’s Serbian forward Manuel Milinkovic.
According to reports in Italy, Milinkovic is ready to terminate his current loan deal with Foggia, with Hearts keen to add him to their squad ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Milinkovic, 23, is currently contracted to Genoa, but has yet to play a competitive game for the Rossoblu. He has spent time on loan at Virtus Lanciano and Messina before joining Foggia over the summer. However, his move to the Serie B outfit has turned sour and he wants to end his stay with them.
Milinkovic was born in the French town of Antibes, so would not require a work permit as he holds dual Serbian/French nationality. He started his professional career in Serbia, playing for Rad and BASK Beograd. He then moved to Italy, joining Ternana and the Salernitana before transferring to Genoa last year.
Milinkovic can play either out wide or through the middle. Although not an out-and-out striker, he is a forward-thinking player who is quick and creative. He is under contract with Genoa, but it is understood he has no first-team future with them.
