There was a flurry of activity early on but then transfer business took a back seat as Celtic’s controversial Dubai trip took central stage, alongside news that all football below the Scottish Championship, including the Scottish Cup, was being postponed until the end of the month, which has now been extended.

As expected, there has been an increase in teams getting involved in the market with players coming in and players going out. The January also takes on an extra interest with contracts running out and clubs able to agree pre-contract deals for those players with six months or less left on their contracts.

Many clubs will likely be involved in deals throughout the day with Aberdeen, Celtic and Hearts keen to add players. For Hibs and Rangers it could be more about players departing or holding on to key assets. Ross County have been boosted by £300,000 through the sale of Ross Stewart which could allow John Hughes to look at further additions to the Staggies.

With the lower leagues still postponed, there will unlikely be any loan deals to the clubs below the Championship.

Clubs have until midnight to get deals over the line before the transfer window closes until the summer. Pre-contracts can still be agreed after the window shuts, while players who are free agents before the deadline can also still move.

We will have all the latest from around the SPFL throughout the day and right up to and past the midnight deadline.
