Premier League side chase Rangers starlet

Kai Kennedy is set to depart Rangers before the close of the transfer window.

The highly-rated teenager has less than a year left on his deal and according to the Daily Record there is no chance of him agreeing an extension at Ibrox.

Rangers have also lost another promising starlet from their academy.

Celtic loan Dundee forward

Celtic have sent striker Jonathan Afolabi on loan to Dundee for the season.

The Irish youth international, signed by the club last summer, had a loan stint at Dunfermline Athletic last campaign.

It is the latest Dundee recruit as they look to put pressure on favourites Hearts at the top of the Championship.

Hearts youngster on the move

Chris Hamilton has completed his move to Dumbarton from Hearts.

The young centre-back joins the League One side on loan until January.

Hamilton impressed at Cowdenbeath last season and will gain more first-team football under Jim Duffy.

Sean Ward has also left Tynecastle on loan, joining Gala Fairydean Rovers.

Ukrainian international Bogdan Mykhaylichenko has claimed he had strong interest from Rangers this summer.

Celtic 'target' Rodrigo Riquelme is set to move to Championship side Bournemouth, according to a report.

The Scottish champions have been linked with the Atletico Madrid starlet.

However, England appears his destination with the Cherries his preferred choice for a loan switch ahead of Reading.

Nicholas on Celtic left-back move

Ex-Celtic forward Charlie Nicholas doesn’t reckon his former club will spend a "significant sum" on a new left-back.

The position is one in which Neil Lennon is keen to strengthen following the departure of Boli Bolingoli.

"I genuinely don’t think Celtic will go and spend a significant sum on a left-back," Nicholas wrote in the Daily Express.

"They need to and Lenny knows he needs to but I am so unconvinced with Celtic’s transfer dealings. They don’t seem to have the same financial muscle.”
