Craig Levein today confirmed Hearts midfielder Harry Cochrane will be sidelined through injury but the club hope he can return quicker than they first thought.

The 16-year-old midfielder hobbled off after just 15 minutes of last Friday's Edinburgh derby at Easter Road, with staff initially fearing he would miss around four to six weeks with a hamstring problem.

Manager Levein is hopeful he will be fit sooner after a more encouraging diagnosis, although he is unsure exactly how long Cochrane will be missing.

"Harry has improved a fair bit, that was the first assessment," he told the Evening News. "It's not his hamstring as such, it's just above that, so it isn't quite as serious as a hamstring.

"I'm not exactly sure how long he will be out because it's quite an unusual muscle injury. Hopefully it will only be around two or three weeks but we aren't certain yet."
