Hearts are in talks to sign the FC Copenhagen winger Danny Amankwaa as striker Esmael Goncalves edges towards a £300,000 Tynecastle exit.
Amankwaa, 23, is available to move this month and Hearts are hopeful of securing a deal to bring him to Edinburgh. With Jamie Walker sold to Wigan Athletic and Goncalves a target for the Uzbekistan club Pakhtakor Tashkent, there is scope for manager Craig Levein to strengthen in attacking areas his squad.
Amankwaa is a Danish youth internationalist of Ghanaian descent who previously had a spell on trial with Chelsea. He suffered injury problems in Denmark and could secure a fresh start to his career in Scotland.
Walker's departure to Wigan leaves Hearts short of wingers and Amankwaa can play on the left flank or the right.
Talks regarding Goncalves' move are at an early stage with Pakhtakor having put together a proposal which could earn Hearts £300,000. The Portuguese forward was signed from the Cypriot club Anorthosis Famagusta last January for £170,000, however he will be allowed to leave provided all parties can agree a deal.
He is still in Scotland but was not part of Levein's squad for Wednesday's match against Hamilton due to a knock.
