Although he often favours a 4-2-3-1 system, Neilson is prepared to use 4-4-2 and even 3-5-2 on occasions with Boyce and Wighton up front.
Wighton started Tuesday’s opening Betfred Cup tie against Inverness Caledonian Thistle as Boyce is on international duty with Northern Ireland until next Thursday.

Hide AdNeilson told the Evening News he is pleased at the variety of options both players offer in the centre-forward position.
“They are both good players and I've been really pleased with both of them,” said the manager. “Wighty gives you that mobility, playing on the shoulder and running in behind.
“Boycie is a target man who can deal with the ball and bring other people into play. At times this season, both of them will play together.
“They bring different things to the game and they've got good experience as well. Wighty, although he's only 23, he has played for several years and I really like him. I think he will be a big player for us this year.”
