AMERICAN goalkeeper Chris Konopka joined Hearts on trial today as Robbie Neilson searches for a back-up keeper for next season.
Jack Hamilton is to be loaned out and a deputy for first-choice Neil Alexander is therefore required. Konopka, 31, trained at Riccarton this morning and is keen to earn himself a contract.
He joined Ross County on a short-term deal last month to provide goalkeeping cover after Scott Fox suffered an injury – and was on the bench when they beat Hibs in the League Cup final.
Hearts coaching staff will run the rule over Konopka this week before deciding their next move. He is 6ft 5in tall and has previously played in the MLS with clubs including New York Red Bulls, Philadelphia Union and Toronto.
