Experienced referee Willie Collum will take charge of the last-four encounter, and will be assisted by David McGeachie and Frank Connor. Alan Muir has been tasked with fourth-official duties while Steven McLean and Bobby Madden will fulfill the additional assistant referee roles.

The latter two were the referee and fourth official respectively during the 2016 Scottish Cup final when Hibs defeated Rangers 3-2 to end their 114-year gap between cup wins while Collum took charge of the 2018/19 Scottish Cup final between Heart and Celtic. This will be his sixth Scottish Cup semi-final.

Collum, 41, has overseen one Hibs game this season - the 3-0 victory at St Mirren in September. During that match he cautioned four players but in six Scottish Premiership fixtures this term he has booked 21 players, sent off two, and awarded five penalties.

Hearts and Hibs stats

During his career to date, Collum has officiated in 57 games involving Hearts and 47 involving Hibs.

Of the 57 games including the Tynecastle Park side, Hearts have won 22, drawn 13, and lost 22. The Easter Road outfit has a record of 17 wins, 11 draws and 19 defeats from 47 matches.

Collum is well-versed in Edinburgh derby meetings, having been the man in the middle for eight games between the Capital rivals. However, Hibs have won just one of the eight matches with Hearts tasting victory in four. The other three ended in draws.

His last derby ended in a 2-1 win for Hibs at Tynecastle, with Irish winger Daryl Horgan scoring one in each half after Peter Haring had given Hearts the lead on 25 minutes.

Just three yellow cards were shown in that game as Hibs duo Darren McGregor and Marc McNulty, and Hearts’ goalscorer Haring, were all cautioned for fouls in the second period.
