Mitchell, 21, rejoined Hearts earlier this week after agreeing to a season-long loan from Manchester United.
This comes after the left-sided youngster sparkled in a five-month stint at Tynecastle last term, including starting in both of Hearts’ derby victories.
Speaking to the media for the first time since re-signing, Mitchell stated his reasons for returning to Edinburgh, while also having a cheeky dig at Neil Lennon’s side.
Asked what the attraction of Hearts was, Mitchell said: “One of the main things was the fans. Even on social media they’ve been massive, saying how much they’d love me to come back.
“The staff have also been very helpful with me. They’ve helped me to learn and things like that.
“It’s a big club. There are only a handful of big clubs in the Scottish league: Rangers, Celtic, Aberdeen, Hearts.
“It’s a big club and that’s why I’ve come back.”
When asked ‘what about Hibs?’, Mitchell said: “Hibs? Who are they?”
