Hearts were expected to lose to Celtic but they came close to a massive upset, especially after Edwards nudged Hearts into a second half lead. A double from Odsonne Edouard ultimately put paid to Craig Levein’s side’s trophy chances.
Brought down Edouard for penalty. No chance with winner and was reasonably quiet throughout. 6 Defended manfully as Celtic doubled up with Hayes and Johnston on his side. 7 Like Souttar, made all manner of blocks and headers. Marshalled defence brilliantly. 8 Sound distribution, good positioning and a number of crucial blocks. Flat-footed for winning goal, though. 7 Performed beyond his 16 years. Solid in defence and energetic in attack. Not overwhelmed by occasion. 8 Played courageously through groin injury. Added steel to midfield and carried team forward. Eventually ran out of petrol. 7 Some nice touches in midfield and played part in goal. Picked up booking for rash tackle. 7 Closed down and harried Celtic constantly. Took his goal well. Surprise inclusion but played very well. 8 Involved in Hearts' goal but got into a couple of promising positions without finding killer ball. 6 Chances to run at Celtic defence were fleeting. Hearts could not set him free often enough. 6 Worked his socks off as lone striker and was a pest, niggling away at Celtic's defence. 7 Limited impact after coming off bench. 4 Tried to cause havoc but got little joy out of Celtic defence. 5 Neat and tidy when he came on for Haring. 5
