Hearts face a fight to land reported target Jordan Green with Motherwell and an unnamed English League One side keeping tabs on the 24-year-old.

It emerged last week that the former Yeovil man was on the Tynecastle club's radar, with the Daily Record reporting that the Capital club were keen on Green and his Oakwell team-mate Mamadou Thiam.

Now the same paper reports that Stephen Robinson is eyeing a move for the former Bournemouth and Fulham youngster. The Fir Park boss is understood to be keen on another wide option and has identified Green as a potential January acquisition.

Green, who can operate at full-back or on either flank, hasn't featured for Barnsley since Daniel Stendel's last game in charge. He is expected to be available on loan with current Tykes boss Gerhard Struber keen to trim his large squad.

The utility man has 18 months remaining on his Oakwell deal and Hearts are understood to have made contact with the English club over a possible deal.
