The club released a statement as they launched the new attire, which read: “Heart of Midlothian is delighted to launch the new Umbro home kit for the 2020/21 season.

“The kit is available to pre-order now online at www.heartsdirect.co.uk and orders will be sent out from Thursday 28th May onwards.

“For the sixth consecutive season, the club is proud to partner with Save the Children and to support their vital work with children and families in Scotland. The charity's logo is displayed on the front of the shirt.

“In keeping with tradition, the new Home jersey is dark maroon and, for the first time, gold accents from the club crest embellish the cuff. As per recent seasons, the top features a hugely popular sign off on the back of the neck, this time bearing the two famous words from our club song: Glorious Hearts.

“The jersey is complimented by a white home short featuring a dark maroon side panel. The maroon socks share the white and gold strips from the shirt cuff and the iconic Umbro white diamond to the front.

“Normally, the launch of the new home kit acts as the start of the countdown to the new season. The situation we all currently find ourselves in, however, is far from normal. Despite the uncertainty surrounding Scottish football and society as a whole, the incredible backing of the Hearts support remains our one true constant.

“More than 3,000 Jambos have already secured their Season Ticket for 2020/21 despite not knowing when they will be allowed to return to Tynecastle.

“In recent weeks, we have been inundated with messages from fans asking when they will be able to get their hands on the new kit. Amidst all the uncertainty, there is still an overwhelming desire amongst our supporters to wear the famous maroon jersey with pride.

“As we all continue to stay safe at home, we hope that as many of you as possible will choose to do so whilst clad in the stunning new home jersey. Should you choose to do so, then rest assured that, at a time when the club’s income streams have been severely restricted, new kit sales will provide a vital source of income to Heart of Midlothian.

“As always, we thank you all for your incredible support.”
