HEARTS defender Juwon Oshaniwa could return from injury to face Celtic in the League Cup quarter-final at Tynecastle tomorrow night.
The Nigerian full-back has received the all-clear after a scan on the hamstring he injured against Dundee United nine days ago. Doctors told him there is no damage to the area and he has resumed training at Hearts’ Riccarton training base.
Spanish midfielder Miguel Pallardo should also be available to face Celtic despite bad bruising on his shin. However, head coach Robbie Neilson admitted he may protect Oshaniwa to ensure he is available for Saturday’s league match with Partick Thistle.
“Oshaniwa and Pallardo should be okay,” said Neilson. “They’ll be involved with us but I’ll need to make a decision on whether they play or not.
“Oshaniwa has been training, he’s had his scan and everything is fine but we need to be careful with him. Blazej Augustyn is suspended for Saturday and Alim Ozturk is already out, so I need to be careful I don’t lose another defender.”
