Hearts' trip to Motherwell this weekend will be overseen by veteran referee Alan Muir, the Scottish FA has confirmed.

The 44-year-old, who has been toting his whistle since April 2008, has taken charge of 19 Hearts games in his career, with the Jambos winning eight, drawing five and losing six.

In those fixtures he has shown 31 yellow cards, four reds and awarded two penalties - although in his two previous Scottish Premiership matches involving Hearts (the 1-0 loss at Kilmarnock in early October and the goalless draw with Ross County in August) he has kept his cards in his pocket and not awarded any penalties.

Muir is assisted by Graeme Leslie and David Dunne. The fourth official is Steven Reid.

Rookie ref for Hibs

Hibs, meanwhile, will have Colin Steven as the man in the middle when they welcome Aberdeen to Easter Road.

Steven, who only made his top-flight debut in August, has taken charge of three Scottish Premiership matches, issuing 12 yellow cards and one red.

It will be his first match involving either club, having overseen Hamilton-Ross County, Ross County-St Mirren and Livingston-St Mirren earlier this season.

He is assisted by Kylie Cockburn and John McCrossan while David Lowe is on fourth-official duties.
