Anyone fancying Hearts or Hibs to overcome second-tier status and win the Scottish Cup this season can get huge prices, with both Edinburgh clubs available at a whopping 33/1 to lift the old trophy.

The Capital pair are more than double the price of fellow Championship side Rangers.

Hearts, 16 points clear of Hibs in the league, would ordinarily be a shorter price to win the competition than their city rivals, but the fact they play red-hot favourites Celtic in the fourth round has been factored in. Nonetheless, if you think Hearts can get the better of Ronny Deila’s side at Tynecastle this weekend, it’s worth taking the 33/1 on Robbie Neilson’s team to lift the cup, as that price will probably be slashed to single figures in the event that the Gorgie side prevail.

Hearts are 6/1 to beat Celtic on Sunday or 10/3 to qualify, while Celtic are 1/2 to win in 90 minutes or 1/4 to qualify.

Jason Holt opened the scoring for Hearts against Rangers last weekend and is 13/1 to do so again on Sunday.

Hibs embark on their latest mission to win the Scottish Cup when they travel to Alloa tomorrow. The Easter Road side are priced up as the 4/5 favourites to win the match or 4/11 to progress through whatever means. Alloa can be backed at 18/5 to win in 90 minutes or 12/5 to win after a replay.

Hibs’ top scorer Dominique Malonga is 15/4 to score first, 4/1 to score two or more and 16/1 for another hat-trick.

With at least five Premiership teams guaranteed to exit the competition in the fourth round, is offering 5/1 that any lower league side can win the competition.

Scottish Cup outright winner (selected odds) Celtic 5/4, Aberdeen 10/1, Dundee United 10/1, Rangers 14/1, Hearts 33/1, Hibs 33/1
