The 10 most capped Hearts players to star for Scotland this century

The Scottish internationals who’ve picked up the most caps while representing Hearts since 2000

‘For national caps we can always supply...' goes the lyric from Hector Nicol’s 1958 classic The Boys In Maroon (more commonly referred to as ‘The Hearts Song’).

Club legends in the mould of Dave Mackay and Alex Massie are referenced in the song and it’s a tradition the Gorgie Road have kept up through the years with even this version of the Hearts first-team squad, presently in the Scottish Championship and suffering embarrassing defeats to Highland League teams, having a player in the current Scotland set-up.

That man is, of course, Craig Gordon. The goalkeeper has made 24 of his 55 appearances for his country while a Hearts player and ranks fairly high on our list.

However, he doesn’t grab the top spot, or even a place in the top two. Here’s how the rundown goes...
