Around 11,600 fans have now committed to a season ticket ahead of the club’s return to the Premiership, surpassing the previous high of 11,500.

And opening day sales of the new Macron shirt were said to have been “extraordinary” with last summer’s first day total passed by lunchtime as supporters flocked to the clubstore and new online website.

Chief executive Leeann Dempster said: “We are delighted with the opening day sales of the new home kit. The response following our launch was overwhelmingly positive.

“Season ticket sales are also very encouraging, there is a lot of excitement building for the new season. Our kit campaign talked of a club ‘reborn’ and we hope more and more supporters will get behind us on our return to the Premiership.”

Hibs fans will have the chance to take a close-up look at Andy Murray’s Wimbledon Trophy at Easter Road on Monday evening. Jaguar, partner of both Wimbledon and Hibs fan Murray, are touring the country with the trophy and will be in the west stand car park from 5pm to 7pm when supporters can have a photograph with it.
