But it’s fair to say few of them will mean as much as this one does to Andy Cook and Sarah Hainey.

The newlyweds became the first married couple to pose with the historic trophy after celebrating their wedding at Easter Road.

The surprise photo opportunity arose after Andy and Sarah tied the knot on Saturday. Following their ceremony at Lothian Chambers, family and friends gathered at the ground, where the cup stole the limelight.

Sarah, who played for Hibs Ladies as a teenager, said: “We were at the Scottish Cup final and the victory parade, so to be able to get our photo taken with the Scottish Cup really was the icing on the cake.

“My dad was so happy to be able to see it, and when he, my sister and I got our photo taken together, my dad counted up all of our ages and it totalled 114 – the exact amount of years it took Hibs to win the cup.

“It was so special to be married at Easter Road the same year Hibs won the cup.”

Sarah and Andy fell in love after meeting at a ceilidh in Glasgow more than two years ago. And it was the 24-year-old bride, from Liberton, who had to convince her boyfriend of the merits of following the team in green.

She said: “My family have always been massive Hibs supporters and when I first met Andy he wasn’t that into football.

“I’ve had a season ticket for seven years and on one of our first dates I took Andy to see Hibs v St Mirren, and I converted him.

“He fell in love with the team during the relegation play-offs against Hamilton away.

“He previously had a soft spot for Ayr United because that’s where he’s from.”

But the couple will have to follow Hibs’ promotion bid from afar this season – as they jet off to Dubai next week to take up new teaching jobs.

Andy, 26, said: “We hadn’t planned on getting married quite so soon but we are moving to Dubai next week and wanted to do it before we went.

“Our wedding was a fantastic day and we couldn’t have had our reception in a more special place.”

As they start their new lives, though, memories of their special day are certain to be in their thoughts – particularly as their night culminated in guests forming a circle to belt out Hibs anthem Sunshine on Leith.

Andy said: “Singing Sunshine on Leith had to be done, it was amazing to see everyone in a circle singing it, even our friends that are Jambos.”

A Hibs spokesman said: “Everyone at Hibernian FC would like to pass on their congratulations to Andy and Sarah. We hope they had a great wedding day at Easter Road and wish them all the luck with their move to Dubai.”
