The 23-year-old, who won his solitary cap for Poland in a friendly against Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2011, is a free agent after leaving Jagellonia Bialystock at the end of last season and, according to reports in his homeland, was close to agreeing a deal with the current Championship leaders. However, the Evening News has learned that Hibs have cooled their interest in him for the time being.

Modelski started his career at West Ham as a teenager before heading back to Poland, joining GKS Belchatow.

Hibs are keen to reinforce at right-back, with club captain David Gray the only recognised player in that position.
