It’s the sixth year that the event – organised by the Hibernian Historical Trust – has been held with more than 6000 attending last summer’s open day.

Fans will be able to take a self-guided tour around the stadium visiting many areas including the player’s lounge, directors’ box, dressing-rooms and pitch-side technical areas and to view the extensive exhibits presented by the Trust.

Among them will be the Championship trophy won by Neil Lennon’s players and the two cups won by Hibernian Ladies.

Tom Wright of the Historical Trust said: “It’s great to be part of the Leith Festival and over our first five years more and more folk have come along, reaching 6000 last year.

“There are many things to see but we always try to add something new to our exhibits every year. This time we’ll also have a competition for kids.”

Hibs chief executive Leeann Dempster said: “We are delighed to work again with the Historical Trust to make the open day a success. We believe Hibs are a big part of the local community and this is just one way we can help give something back to the fans.”

The club’s new home and away kit will also be in display – and available to buy – in the newly-refurbished club shop.

The event will be open from 1pm to 5pm, entrance via the west stand. It is free, but children under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult.
