The Easter Road side have secured the service of Abbi Grant, Rachel McLauchlan and Sarah Ewens from Glasgow, Aberdeen and Spartans respectively.

All three players have been involved in the international set-up with Grant and McLauchlan offered contracts by City only to turn them down to join Chris Roberts’ side.

A delighted Roberts said: “We targeted our recruitment during the close season to bring in players that are all good enough and ready to make a big impact, as well as fitting into our style and philosophy.

“The girls will create even more competition for places and I believe we now have the most exciting squad that I’ve worked with since joining Hibs five years ago.”

Dundee-born attacker, Grant, 20, is a member of the National Performance Centre and admits she was in search of a new challenge after lacking motivation towards the end of her time with champions City. The former Rangers and Forfar player said: “Towards the end of last season, I wasn’t as motivated as I should’ve been and knew I needed a new challenge and surroundings to develop further.

“Hibs are an ambitious club that are focused on player development. I’ve seen first hand the progress and improvement they’ve made in recent seasons so it was an easy decision.”

Scotland youth internationalist McLauchlan also turned down Glasgow City to sign for Hibs.
