It is the first time the 19-year-old has been selected by manager Scot Gemmill for the U-21s. He has previously captained his country at under-19s level and skippered Hibs’ Development Squad to a league and cup double this season.

After spending last season on loan at Edinburgh City, Porteous has become part of Neil Lennon’s full Hibs squad. His last start at senior club level came in a 2-2 victory draw with Kilmarnock in February, scoring Hibs’ second goal.
