Oli Shaw and Ryan Porteous starred in Hibs’ 5-0 Development League win over St Johnstone less than 24 hours after representing Scotland Under-19s in the Elite Round in the Czech Republic.

Red-hot striker Shaw scored twice at Oriam and Porteous also grabbed a goal as the Hibees stayed in the title hunt. Midfielder Alex Harris, meanwhile, was on target as he made his return from a thigh injury.

It was Harris who gave Hibs a 27th-minute lead, poking home a short passback.

Harris was replaced by Yrik Gallantes at half-time and the young Hibees soon stepped up a gear.

They made it 2-0 on 59 minutes as Porteous – currently on loan at Edinburgh City – headed home a Fraser Murray corner.

Seven minutes later, Gallantes nodded in the third goal.

Shaw scored bagged his first strike 12 minutes from time, knocking home the rebound after his volley was saved.

He completed the scoring from the penalty spot three minutes later after being fouled in the box.
