Dylan McGeouch has been named in Hibs’ matchday squad to face Aberdeen at Pittodrie this afternoon.
There had been fears that McGeouch would be forced to sit out the hotly anticipated clash with Derek McInnes’ side in the battle for second place in the Ladbrokes Premiership.
Steven Whittaker deputised for McGeouch last week, and will do likewise this afternoon, with McGeouch named among the substitutes.
McGeouch suffered a fracture below his eye against Celtic on April 23 and was sent to hospital for an X-ray which revealed a small break.
He was measured for a protective face mask but it only arrived the day before the fixture against Kilmarnock, and McGeouch sat out the match against Steve Clarke’s side, with Neil Lennon admitting it was “too risky” to ask him to play in the 5-3 victory.
Hibs are still to face Hearts at Tynecastle and Rangers at Easter Road after taking on the Dons and Lennon is keen to have his strongest side available for those two matches.
Hibs team to face Aberdeen at Pittodrie: Marciano; Ambrose, McGregor, Hanlon; Stevenson, Boyle, Whittaker, McGinn, S Allan; Kamberi, Maclaren. Subs: Bell, Gray, Porteous, Bartley, Slivka, McGeouch, Barker.
