Hibs have confirmed the signings of central defenders Efe Ambrose and Brian McLean, with both players available for selection for tonight’s Ladbrokes Championship match at St Mirren.
Nigerian internationalist Ambrose joins on an emergency loan from Celtic, while free agent McLean has signed until the end of the season.
Hibs have a shortage of centre-halves, with Paul Hanlon, Liam Fontaine and Jordon Forster injured and Darren McGregor carrying a knock. The latter is also suspended for Hibs’ Scottish Cup tie with Ayr on Saturday.
Head coach Neil Lennon said: “We were a little bit light on bodies in the central defensive position at the minute and bringing in Efe and Brian will fill that void.
“Both have fantastic experience in domestic football here in Scotland, as well as abroad. I know what qualities each of them possess and they will help to bolster the squad as we strive to achieve our goals this campaign.”
