An annual golf day has been organised to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care – in memory of former Hibs chairman Kenny Waugh, who died last month.

The inaugural event takes place on Thursday at Duddingston Golf Course with 88 players including football stars such as John Blacklie, John Brownlie, Darren Jackson, Jackie McNamara jnr, Simon Donnelly, Gordon Hunter, Stuart Lovell, John Robertson, Allan Preston and ex-Aberdeen captain and manager Willie Miller.

Following dinner and a prize-giving and cup presentation an auction will take place with an array of prizes including tickets and hotel stay to see the Bay City Rollers and tickets for Manchester United’s Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven at Old Trafford next month, a round of golf with Hibs boss Alan Stubbs and captain David Gray, and hospitality at both Easter Road and Tynecastle for forthcoming matches.
