Hibs have smashed through the 3,000 barrier for season-ticket sales.

The packages were launched two weeks ago with the help of celebrity supporter Dougray Scott as the club became one of the first in the UK to release briefs for next season.

Hibs chief Leeann Dempster noted the difficult period and made a pledge to help those fans in need, while asking those who can and want to buy a season ticket to step forward and help the club in a time of need.

She said: “The first thing we want to do is make it as easy as we can to buy a season ticket. We’re going to offer some flexible finance options and be very flexible when it comes to deadlines. The most important thing is that we want supporters to be back here and enjoying their football.

“We all know that some supporters won’t be able to purchase season tickets at this minute but for those who can, we’d ask them to step forward. For those who can’t, we’ll do what we can to help. Be safe, keep well, look after your neighbour and be part of this big community.”

More than 3,000 supporters have acted on that call in a fantastic response.

“Easter Road wasn't built to be empty. We can't wait to see you all back in your usual seats when the time's right.”

It included a video with the surnames of the latest 1,000 to purchase tickets on the back of a Hibs top.

There is still uncertainty as to when the current season will conclude and how it will be finished, but plans are already being put in place at Easter Road for the 2020/2021 campaign.
