Hibs fans snap up allocation for Boxing Day Hearts clash within 75 minutes despite ticket prices

It took just over an hour for Hibs fans to sell out their allocation for the Edinburgh derby clash with Hearts.

The Hibees travel across the city on Boxing Day for the second meeting with their rivals this season.

Tickets went on sale this afternoon and such was the demand they were snapped up within 75 minutes.

Due to a system error the student price class was unavailable with the club requesting those who meet the criteria to contact the club.

It was impressive from the Hibs support considering the cost of briefs for the fixture which kicks off at 12.30pm on 26 December.

An adult ticket cost as much as £34, while concessions were £22 or £25.

The previous meeting between the sides saw Hearts fans pay £32 for the Easter Road clash.

Prior to Hearts' fixture with Livingston on Wednesday evening, a group of home fans in the Wheatfield Stand unfurled a banner which read: 'Twenty's plenty'.

It follows similar demonstrations by Celtic and St Mirren fans regarding the cost of away ticket prices in the Scottish Premiership.

Fans of the league leaders have held protests at Hibs, Hamilton and Parkhead so far this season questioning the pricing of briefs for away fans.
