Hibs defender Ryan Porteous has been called into the Scotland Under-21 squad for the Toulon Tournament later this month.

It is the first time the 19-year-old has been selected by manager Scot Gemmill for the U-21s. He has previously captained his country at under-19s level and skippered Hibs’ Development Squad to a league and cup double this season.

After spending last season on loan at Edinburgh City, Porteous has become part of Neil Lennon’s full Hibs squad. His last start at senior club level came in a 2-2 victory draw with Kilmarnock in February, scoring Hibs’ second goal.

Scotland are in Group B for the prestigious youth tournament that takes place in the south of France from May 26 to June 9.

They kick off their campaign against Togo on May 27 in Aubagne, before playing France on May 30 in Salon-de-Provence and concluding against South Korea in Fos-sur-Mer on June 2.
