Hibs Under-20s advanced to the Fourth Round of the SFA Youth Cup, defeating Aberdeen 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 finish.

Hibs’ Taylor Hendry had his effort saved by Bryce Billington in the seventh minute and they paid for that miss as Aberdeen sored in the 37th minute, Lawrence Shankland’s scuffed shot hitting both posts before trundling over the line. Joe McBride’s side grabbed an equaliser after 66 minutes when Lewis Allan crashed a half-volley in at the near post.

Hibs were then on top and Daniel Harvie’s 120th minute header just missed.

Hibs’ Scott Martin scored the first penalty, before Kleton Perntreou saved Craig Storie’s.

Allan converted and Cammy Smith hit the base of the post to give the visitors a 2-0 lead. Jordan Sinclair made it 3-0. Taylor Hendry had his penalty saved, but Neil Martyniuk slammed his home to seal a 4-2 victory.
