Hibs striker Franck Dja Djedje is set to miss this weekend’s trip to play-off rivals Queen of the South through injury.

The 26-year-old Ivorian, pictured, recruited a fortnight ago, made his debut as a second-half substitute in the 3-3 draw with Falkirk a week past Saturday. However, he sat out last weekend’s 5-0 win over Cowdenbeath with a hamstring problem and is unlikely to be rushed back for Saturday’s showdown with a Queens side just three points behind third-placed Hibs with a game in hand.

Head coach Alan Stubbs is confident the former Paris Saint-Germain youngster will be available to return for the visit of Raith Rovers the following weekend. “Franck will probably miss out this week but hopefully we’ll have him available for the following game,” he told the Evening News. “We’ve had him scanned and found out exactly what it is and it’s nothing too serious. He’s just strained his hamstring. We just want to make sure it’s 100 per cent right before he comes into the team because we want to make sure he’s available for the rest of the season.”

Stubbs has no fresh injury problems to contend with for the trip to Palmerston Park, but David Gray and Farid El Alagui remain sidelined, while Dominique Malonga is still on international duty with Congo. Jordon Forster increased his bid for match fitness following a three-month absence when he played the first-half of last night’s SPFL Development League match against Hearts.
