Hibs without four first-team players for visit of Dundee

Paul Hanlon will not feature in Hibs’ Betfred Cup tie against Dundee today, having failed to fully recover from the groin injury that forced an early exit in last weekend’s league tussle with St Johnstone.

The central defender lasted just 21 minutes before he had to be replaced by Darren McGregor in the 2-2 draw, and the hoped-for speedy recovery has taken longer than anticipated, ruling him out of the Leith side’s second cup meeting with the Tayside team.

Manager Jack Ross now believes he should be fit for next weekend’s trip to Fir Park, along with left-back Lewis Stevenson, who has returned to full training and should be available for the Motherwell head to head.

With Drey Wright returning to the squad last time out, the only other absentees are Kyle Magennis, who is expected to rejoin the first team training group next week and Scott Allan, who remains unavailable.
