On-loan Hibs youngster Scott Martin has won Arbroath’s Young Player of the Year award.

The combative midfielder, who joined the Lichties on loan at the start of November, has put in a series of impressive performances in the engine room for the League One side.

The club said: “On-loan Hibs midfielder Scott Martin was overwhelmingly voted our Young Player of the Year by the Arbroath supporters.”

Martin, who joined Hibs in 2007, has made 23 appearances for Dick Campbell’s side, including 21 starts.

Arbroath currently sit third in League One, with 59 points.

The 21-year-old has also appeared for the Hibs Under-20s side, who are still on track for a league and cup double when they face their Aberdeen counterparts at Hampden on Thursday night.

Martin has played 14 times for the Hibs first team, scoring once against Montrose in a 3-0 Betfred Cup victory last season.
